For many years, National Resources has been involved in the supply of Aluminium Foil for rigid packaging applications. With the changing demands of manufacturers and consumers, our market range for this industry sector has expanded to include:

1. Screw-on Wine Cap Closure Sheet - Plain & Lacquered
2. Plain & Coated Lubricated or Printed Foils for both retort and non-retort applications
3. Wadding: One & Two piece liners ranging from plain foam to aluminium/plastic structures  
4. Stand Up Pouches, 8 colour, 4 ply Printed Stand–up Retort Pouches for Pet Food & Human consumption,
5. Finished plain and/or printed  retortable Trays and Lids for the Petfood Industry.

A. Closure Sheet

Wine Bottle Closures over the last few years have undergone a complete transformation. Cork is no longer the automatic choice for Winemakers and Bottlers, with consumers in this region rapidly embracing the added convenience of the Aluminium Screw-On Cap. Aside from the convenience of the screw cap, this transition to Aluminium Caps has also been driven by the improved Oxygen and Moisture Barrier properties offered, meaning significant annual reductions in wine spoilage.

We proudly represent Laminazione Sottile (in Italy - www.laminazionesottile.com) who are recognised leaders in producing the necessary metallurgical and surface finish characteristics required to produce high quality closures. These unique properties include  being able to withstand a significant deep drawing process to convert the sheet into closures, whilst also having the necessary pre-treatment to ensure optimum adhesion between metal and lacquer; without the need for a primer coating.

Furthermore, we can also offer our closure manufacturing clients the option of bare metal or pre-lacquered sheet. Cap producers choosing the pre-lacquered sheet option are often able to fast track their production time and reduce costs, by removing the base coat application process completely. They also are able to take advantage of consistent high quality offered by an in-line coil coating process.

B. Aluminium Foils

Aluminium Foil has been the mainstay of the rigid packaging industry for many years. In conjunction with our suppliers, we have continued to bring innovative products into this market. We bring in a range of thicknesses from 6 micron up to 90 micron, supplied in 1XXX, 3XXX & 8XXX series Alloys, with plain, lubricated, printed and lacquered surface coating options available.

C. Wadding

We supply a range of pre-punched wad and tape for container liners, onto applications used in the beverage and general packaging industry sectors. This broad range starts with simple one-piece foam liners, on to  pressure sensitive liners and moves up to two-piece,  multi-layer printed liners with retort capability.

D. Retortable Stand-Up Pouches

We have recently taken on the Floeter Agency for supply of retortable stand-up pouches in this region. Floeter make a huge range of high quality 3 & 4 ply stand-up pouches, and specialize in retortable packaging with up to 10 colours for the Pet Food and Human consumption packaging markets. We work with the client to determine the best fit for their application from the existing range, right through to offering tailor-made supply options for specific consumer or production demands.

E. Retortable Trays & Lids

Through our close association with Aluflexpack (Croatia - www.afp.hr) we are able to bring to local packers, a range of finished retortable trays and lids, used extensively in the Pet Food packaging industry. Along with a broad range of generic tray and lid designs, we can work with the end user to develop tailor-made designs. These products are specially designed to meet the rigours of retortable packaging, and can be produced with plain or lacquered coatings, with customer specific print options available.
