Huge congratulations to the team Sappi Rockwell, who went up against fierce competition to win Design Team of the Year within the Performance category at the UK Packaging Awards 2024, held at the Grosvenor House in London on 13 October.
The prestigious awards bring together leading packaging experts to showcase and celebrate some of the most innovative packaging solutions in the industry.
The incredibly proud Rockwell team was represented at the awards by Mill Director Brian Wright, Head of Sales Louise Sutherland, and Technical Manager Pedro Castro accepted the award on behalf of the full Sappi Rockwell team for its pioneering work on their newly developed StarPaper. The first of its kind, this unique, high performance paper lidding features a proprietary heat seal coating that offers an ovenable, dual solution.
Commenting on the win, Brian said: ‘This award brings recognition to the tremendous amount of hard work and innovative drive put into product development – not only at the Rockwell site but across Sappi’s full scope of mills. A big thank you to the standout team who worked hard to make this possible as well as the external support necessary with commercial trials and exhaustive testing.’
