High Strength 5083/5383 Alloy Sheet & Plate – Marine – DNV, LR Certified

Aluminium alloy 5083 plate is widely used in marine applications due to its high strength, corrosion resistance & and its inherent weight saving . Alloy 5083 plate can be sourced in a range of Tempers and up to2600 mm wide & 11.80 metres long in certain gauges.

Whilst Alloy 5083 is a popular option for Sheet & Plate supply for Marine applications, Alloy 5383 has started to become an alternative in this market as it has shown improved corrosion resistance in comparison to 5083-H116/321.

Marine grades 5083 & 5383 are both tested per ASTM B928 to the ensure the product exhibits no evidence of exfoliation corrosion.

The 5083 & 5383 sheet and plate we supply into the Marine market has been approved by several classification societies including : Det Norske Veritas, (DNV); Germanisher Lloyd, (GL); Lloyd’s Register of Shipping, (LR) & American Bureau of Shipping, (ABS) etc.
