Invercote Paperboard for Premium Packaging

Invercote is a strong, multi-layered Solid Bleached Board (SBB) that is ideal for a range of end-user applications including the packaging of premium cosmetics, perfumes, chocolate, pharmaceuticals, electronics and many other products.   All materials used in the making of Invercote are approved for food contact, making it highly suitable for the packaging of food and other sensitive products.

Technical details

Invercote’s multiple layers of solid bleached fresh fibre give it superior strength and stiffness compared to board grades containing mechanical or recycled fibres, or single-ply bleached fresh fibreboards. The fibre composition varies for each layer in the construction of Invercote.

Invercote can be printed on using several conventional methods and digital printing processes. Its strength and consistent baseboard performance, enable full-speed printing and post-print production. Invercote can be glued with both emulsion adhesives (water based) and hot melt adhesives.

Sustainability advantages

Invercote is manufactured in Iggesund, Sweden from fresh wood fibres of known and traceable origin from sustainably managed forests. The Holmen mill in Iggesund holds chain-of-custody certification and has an extremely low climate impact due to its energy self-sufficiency. The mill received the EcoVadis Platinum rating for the third year in a row 2023, which recognises the paperboard mill as a global leader in sustainability that belongs to the top 1 per cent of all companies assessed by EcoVadis.
